The Large Distressed Pendant - Collapsing New Buildings

Inspired by the dull, dark and unappealing high rise apartments that were thrown in the 60's and were crumbling by the 80's. Living on a council estate at the time, I was surrounded by these and it was both fascinating and scary to think people lived in these eyesores.

This collection uses a method whereby a chemical reaction 'eats' away at the silver to create a random design and not dissimilar to the contamination the concrete in these buildings was subjected to. At a given point, the process is halted and the silver heat sealed for protection.

The Large Distressed Pendant is a unique creation and its design is governed by the conditions it is subjected to.
